New!! CST launches new range of High Modulus carbon
filament wound skiff and dinghy spars |

CST are re-writing the rules for carbon spars - Carbon
2.0 - the latest generation of carbon spars are here!
By using High Modulus carbon fibre CST's new spar
sections are smaller in diameter, lighter and stiffer
(depending on class requirements). Currently
our new High Modulus range includes the 18' skiff, Moth
and International 14. The next classes to be
converted will be the Contender and Flying Dutchman with
more to follow! Further details to follow. |

Composites International Moth World Championships'

CST is delighted to announce that they are the title
sponsor for the 2008 Moth World Championships being held
at the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy on 5th-11th
July.

New!! 40mm OD High Modulus Moth mast (April 08) |

As part of the new range of High Modulus carbon masts
CST has just launched a brand new High Modulus carbon
Moth mast. The one piece tapered mast is just 40mm
outside diameter compared with 50mm for the previous
version. Many competitor masts are still 55mm OD
making the new mast 15mm smaller. This will offer
significantly reduced windage through smaller
cross-section and better leading edge profile.
Weighing just 2kg with fittings the new mast is also
lighter than its predecessor. More |

New!! First 191mm Elliptical mast section wound
(March 08) |
|
The first 191 x 101mm elliptical mast section was
filament wound at the end of march 08 and will be
assembled and rigged by Allyacht Spars ready to be
fitted to a Spirited 380 catamaran. The mast will
be supplied in two sections measuring 7m and 9m
respectively. The new section is part of CST's
expanding elliptical mast series
and can be seen on the
Spirited 380 stand at the Sanctuary Cove Boat show May
22nd - 25th.

CST Carbon Furling Boom for Super Yacht !!! |

Over the last couple of months CST has been developing
their current filament winding machines and through this
development, have successfully wound a carbon fibre
furling boom for a new 58 metre super yacht.

CST success during Christmas holidays! |
|
The Christmas break proved to be another successful time
for CST's spars on the racing circuit. We are
pleased to congratulate Hugh Tait for winning the
Australian NS14 National titles with a new CST carbon
mast section. This was the first major outing for
the new CST mast which clearly proved successful.
We would also like to congratulate Brad Devine for
winning the International 14 Australian Championships in
Sydney. Brad was using CST's well proven 60 series
version 14 mast. Finally our congratulations to
Trevor Fay for winning the Cherub Australian National
titles using our 50 series mast section. Full

supplying filament wound carbon fibre tiller extensions
to all Australia's selected sailors for the 2008
Olympics in Quindango, China. CST's extensions
have been used by many Olympic sailors in the 49er class
and are well renowned for their performance and
durability. With this latest agreement all of
Australia's hopeful's will be holding a CST extension in
their hand as they pursue Gold at the 2008 Olympic

Gotta Love It 7 wins 18' Skiff NSW Championships with
CST No1 and No2 mast |

Congratulations to Seve Jarvin and his team on board
Gotta Love It 7 for winning the opening 18' skiff
championship of the year the NSW titles. Gotta
Love It 7 were using CST's 70 series version 11 mast for
their big rig and CST's 60 series version 21 for the
little rig. |

the 2007 A-Class World Championships, at Islamorada in the Florida
Keys.

New carbon mast for NS14 |
|
CST have developed a brand new carbon mast section for
the NS14 and MG14. The first prototype mast has
been stepped and will hit the water later this week.
Following a short period of development and optimisation
we expect to be able to supply the fleet with a tracked
mast complete with spreader arms. For further

CST supply Kimberly Clarke with carbon spindles |
|
CST has just completed a project to supply four carbon
paper unwind spindles to Kimberly Clarke's baby care
division. The spindles will replace existing
steel ones in order to reduce weight for easier handling
and improved OHS. The new spindles weigh just
under 5kg compared with over 13kg for their steel
counterparts. The carbon spindles have been proof
tested to twice their operational load and will shortly
find their way onto the factory floor for a full
evaluation.
