Moth UHM Airdrop Masts & Boom Update

By All News

CST is committed to supporting female participation in sailing, which is why we’ve been working hard to develop a new Moth base just in time for the 2025 Moth World Championship at Fraglia Vela Malcesine on Lake Garda in Italy (7th-13th July 2025).

We’re introducing a new rig option tailored to suit lighter sailors competing in the Moth class, particularly those in the 65–75 kg range. This setup offers a wider, more manageable power range and the ability to reduce power when needed. We recommend the BV0.0 base paired with the TV1.0 as a starting point. This setup has been tested here in Australia and has demonstrated exceptionally fast performance, which makes it the ideal base to tip balance combination.

We are now also offering a new adjustable outhaul kit, designed to retrofit seamlessly onto any CST AIRDROP boom. Used by our top team sailors, this kit gives you ‘on the fly’ control over sail depth. All items are ready to ship now.

CST wins Innovation Award for Advancements in Composite Technology

By All News

CST has been awarded the 2025 Innovation Award for Advancements in Composite Technology by industry association Composites Australia.

The Innovation Award shines a spotlight on bold creators and visionary achievements in Australian made materials and manufacturing.

CST Composites was recognised for developing and commercialising Australian-made Towpreg, a transformative advancement in filament winding technology. Our proprietary resin impregnation system enables faster, safer and more precise composite manufacturing. Already applied in pressure vessels and Olympic-grade masts, CST’s innovation enhances performance, supports automation, and strengthens Australia’s sovereign capability in advanced composites manufacturing.

Our Materials Scientist and BDM Eden Murphy presented at Composites Australia’s Annual Conference where he accepted the award.
