The Macquarie Speed Sailing Team has completed the first stage of their 2002 attempt to break the world sailing speed record, and hopefully break the the 50 knot barrier. CST carbon fibre reinforcing tube was used in the boat.

Four out of the top five finishers had CST masts, including the winning boat skippered by L. Ashwood.
Arthur Brett won the Contender World Championships held in Australia, using CST’s new Contender Mast. It was a close tussle for first with some great tactical sailing on display. Congratulations Arthur on another well deserved win.
CST will be closing for the Christmas break on 21 Dec 2001, with the office reopening on 7 Jan 2002.
18ft Super Skiff Series
Congratulations to ‘Rag & Famish Hotel’ skippered by John Harris and ‘D’Albora Marinas’ skippered by John Winning, who took and first and second place, respectively. Both boats had CST carbon masts (No. 1 rig), carbon bow poles and tiller extensions.
CST spars filled five out the six top places in the POW. The winning boat, a Morrison 10 sailed by the Greenhalgh brothers, blitzed the fleet with the new CST11 mast, encompassing IM (intermediate modulus) fibre.
We have finally moved to new premises. The new location is just a couple of hundred metres from the shore of Botany Bay. The new facility will enable us to improve our production capacity, efficiency and quality control.
The JJ Giltinan 18ft skiff Worlds in Sydney were won by Rag & Famish, sporting a CST mast tip. The 3rd placegetters, AMP Centrepoint also used the CST tip, as they did the previous year when they won the same event.
