The Moth guys better watch out, there’s a new kid in town. Jack Sherring, a young Australian Moth sailor, has been dominating the Australian and World Junior championships in the past year. Jack has won the last two Australian Junior Moth Championships, and the last World Junior Moth Championship. Jack sails hard, recently recording 29 knots in his first outing with CST’s Elite 1 Mast. CST is proud to support this young Aussie sailor.

In other Moth news, the Brass Monkey Regatta was held on the long weekend, with fourteen Moths racing in generally light conditions. CST is excited to announce that five out of the 6 top place-getters used our masts. Phil Kurts won the regatta with using an MSL 16 and the Elite 1 Mast. Jack Sherring came second with CST’s new Elite 1 Mast.

Who Says Carbon Fibre Can’t be Green

By All News

Solar power is the greenest way to produce electricity and is suitable for homes and businesses. 10kW of solar panels typically produce around 200% of the needs of an average household on a daily basis.

CST is committed to using green energy whenever possible. We recycle where we can and are constantly researching ways to further reduce our carbon footprint and offset the carbon emissions generated. So when you buy a CST product you can be happy knowing that we are doing our bit for the environment.

18′ Skiff Rigs for Switzerland

The majority of the 18′ skiff masts are now supplied ready for wires to fit, which allow the sailors to receive a product that is professionally finished to the highest spec available.  The new masts not only optimise the layup to provide the bending stiffness the sailmakers require, but also maximise the toughness and torsional resistance of the mast through intermediate off axis ply’s.

Precision Moth Boom Cutting

Our recently built, in house 3D router now allows CST to perform more accurate cutting and trimming of components and tubes. The possibilities are endless with this type of machinery on the factory floor. With a reduction of labour costs of up to 80% on some parts it allows CST manufacturing to continue to compete with China while still be based in Australia.
