Less than a week to go – CST at METS TRADE 2019

With less than a week until METS TRADE, the team at CST are getting ready to head over to Amsterdam for the show, 19-21^st Nov. Come say G’day and visits our stand in the Australian Pavilion (Hall 12 – Stand 12.709).

We are proud to say that our Tow Pro Moth Mast has been nominated for the prestigious DAME Awards. The DAME awards are the most significant marine equipment competition of its kind, running for 29 years. The judging panel is made up of industry experts, with the winner of the awards be announced at the show.

CST Nominated for DAME Awards

CST is proud to announce that we have been nominated for the DAME awards, for our Tow Pro Moth Mast. The winners of the awards will be announced at METS TRADE SHOW 2019.

The DAME awards are the most significant marine equipment competition of its kind. Running for 29 years, the judging panel made up of industry experts, focus on the art and science of design, in all aspects. This ranges from styling, functionality, innovation, implementation and practicality. If awarded the DAME award, it marks the submitted product as being the pinnacle of design in the marine industry.

CST Composites is excited to announce that we will be attending the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) Amsterdam in November this year for the first time. You will be able to find us as part of the Australian pavilion in Hall 12. We would like to invite everyone to visit our stand (12.709) and meet with our team and see what we have been up to since our inception in 1995.

We are very proud of our business and how it has evolved over the past 24 years from its beginnings in the back yard, to a recognized world leader in filament winding. When we make sailing masts and structural tubes, we attempt to make a strong, durable product that will stand up to a regular beating and won’t delaminate.

Our energy-absorbing products are quite the opposite! We design them to delaminate and create a maximum surface area at a threshold load to absorb the energy of an impact.
Nice to think our composites could save someone’s life.

CST & ANSTO

Terrific morning hosting members of the management team from the Australian Nuclear Science & Technology Organisation (ANSTO) at our Sydney plant.

CEO of ANSTO, Adi Paterson and his colleagues were impressed by CST’s capabilities and vision. It’s exciting times with both organisations preparing to collaborate closely over the coming years, as CST Composites looks to transition to a new state of the art facility within the ANSTO Innovation Precinct in southern Sydney and support the nandin incubator for innovative technology start-ups.

‘nandin’ is a word from the dialect of the local indigenous Dharawal people meaning ‘looking ahead’.

“Christmas in July”

Another awesome CNC machine being delivered to our new Sydney facility, strengthening our existing in-house capabilities for tooling development, metal parts and mouldings, with the ability to work within 6 micron accuracy.

This particular machine has a special history, first owned by the late, great Dr Victor Chang, Australia’s gifted heart surgeon, for his company’s (Heartware) for the manufacture of artificial heart components in Australia.
